A TRADITION OF
GIVING AND
GRATITUDE
For 20 years, Capital Wealth Advisors (CWA) and its community partners have hosted the Turkey Drop, one of Collier County’s largest holiday dinner giveaways. What began as a single act of generosity has grown into a cherished tradition, providing thousands of Thanksgiving meal boxes—complete with turkeys, eggs, pumpkin pies, and sides —through St. Matthew’s House to local families in need. Beneficiaries include low-income families, those with disabilities, senior citizens, and veterans.
Each year, these meal boxes are packed by CWA’s team, community partners, volunteers, and friends in an assembly line on “Turkey Drop Day” before being distributed throughout Collier and Lee counties.
A Labor of Love: The Origins of Turkey Drop
The Turkey Drop tradition began in 2004 when CWA President, CEO & Co-Founder, Bill Beynon, and his wife Nena heard a radio ad from St. Matthew’s House asking for turkey donations. Moved by the call to action, they immediately purchased 25 turkeys for donation, marking the start of what would become a growing commitment to feeding families during the holidays.
As CWA grew so did its contributions, however it faced challenges—clearing stores of turkeys during peak season created strain for grocers. This obstacle inspired the organization of the CWA Turkey Drop, which partnered with St. Matthew’s House and wholesalers to continue the effort to meet the ever-growing need in the community. In 2014, CWA realized the families needed more than a turkey for their holiday meal. So, they decided to add meal boxes with sides to give to each family. In those early years, CWA used their office to receive all the cases of food and assemble the meal boxes there. Their hallways and offices were lined with green beans, stuffing and cranberry sauce! Sourcing large quantities of turkeys and meal box contents became more challenging as the numbers increased, but the families in need were calling. Post-COVID, the SWFL area has continued to grow exponentially. So, too, has the homeless and the hungry. But Capital Wealth Advisors and their community partners are committed to helping feed families this year and every year.
Since its inception, CWA and its community partners have donated over 25,000 turkeys meal boxes to feed families across Southwest Florida.
The Impact of St. Matthew's House
Looking Ahead:
Doubling the Impact
As Southwest Florida grows, so does the community’s need. This year, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of both CWA and the Turkey Drop. In honor of this milestone, we are doubling our donation to St. Matthew’s House. Thanks to a generous match from The Beynon Family, we’ll be providing an additional 3,000 meals—bringing the total to 6,000 turkey meal boxes for families in need this holiday season.
Join Us in Making a Difference
In addition to Turkey Drop, St. Matthew’s distributes meals year-round, currently providing 300,000 hot meals every year to communities such as Immokalee, Labelle, Alva, Fort Myers, and Naples. Let’s come together as a community to spread the joy of the holiday season. By supporting the CWA Turkey Drop, you help ensure that thousands of families can share a meal and experience the warmth of the holidays. Together, we can make a lasting impact!
